Ages: 9-17. Older youth and students age 18-24 may be placed in the adult group but should register here for a reduced fee
Dates: Saturdays – January 17, 24, 31 & February 7, 14, 21
Time: 10:30 am–11:45 am
Location: Elkwater, Cypress Hills Interprovincial park (other locations such as Kin Coulee Park, Medicine Hat may be used if snow is sufficient)
Program Fee: $80 + Cypress Nordic membership $25 + Canada Biathlon membership $35
Small class sizes: Minimum 4 / Maximum 12 participants

Program Description
- Learn and improve both classic and skate skiing techniques
- Introduction to biathlon using Ecoaims optical (camera) systems
- ✅ Completely safe — no projectiles, no lasers
- A fun, social environment for recreational and competitive athletes
- Develop teamwork and personal interaction skills
- Exposure to off-season training basics
- Build strong foundations in:
- Balance
- Coordination
- Muscle recruitment
- On-snow technique
Equipment & Clothing
- Participants must bring appropriate ski equipment and winter clothing
- A Parent Information Session will be held before classes begin to review equipment and clothing requirements
- 1 pair each of skate and classic skis, poles and boots (combi boots not recommended)*
- Grip and glide wax for all conditions
- Running shoes, ski striding poles (mid-chest height, downhill poles not recommended)
- Backpack that can carry water, weather appropriate training clothes
*Coaches will assist in sizing and selection of equipment. An “Every Kid Can Play” grant will allow us to loan skis, boots and poles to youth who register for lessons
